Catholic Guardian Services (CGS), a sponsored agency of The Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York,〔(【引用サイトリンク】publisher=Archdiocese of New York )〕 is a sophisticated human services non-profit organization with programs that help a large needy population in the New York metropolitan area. CGS’ mission is to protect and nurture disadvantaged children and individuals with disabilities, to increase their prospects for self-sufficiency, to strengthen the family structures integral to their support, and to continually adapt its responses to their ever-changing needs. With over 1200 employees across 6 offices and 34 residential facilities serving thousands of people daily, CGS has operated at the local and state levels for more than 116 years, and currently operates fifteen distinct programs and provides a range of services, including those in the areas of: child abuse and neglect prevention, foster care, maternity services, private domestic and international adoptions, and developmental disabilities.
